We have continued to work together exploring the possibilities of combining lace with ceramics. Having discussed working ideas, I produce the lace, using either needle lace or bobbin lace as I feel appropriate in terms of both technique and aesthetics. Kate then works her magic with her vessels, impressing the lace into the clay and then adding her finishing effects. The following images give an impression of how our work develops. Kate has enjoyed manipulating the lace on each vessel as, amazingly, the lace can be washed and reused.
